I’m working on a teddy and have been confused by the pattern. Can anyone help?
To shape the nose. Next row: K.21, turn; sl. remaining sts on to a safety pin. Next row: K.14, turn; sl. remaining sts on to safety pin. Now work the centre 14 sts. straight for 8 rows. Next row: K. the 14 centre sts., pick up and k.5 sts. along the row end at left side of centre piece, then k. the 7 for the safety pin Next row: K. these 26 sts., then pick up and k.5 sts. along the row ends at eh right sid of the centre piece, and then the 7 sts. from the other safety pin.
The stuff in red i don’t understand what i have to do. I would very grateful for any help anyone could give.
It sounds like you are picking up stitches along the side of the center piece (into the side of the 8 rows you just knitted even), then knitting the 7 that were on the safety pin. Turn and knit those 26 stitches, then pick up stitches down the other side of the center piece & knitting the ones off of the safety pin on that side.
Posting a link to the pattern would help- this is what I would do with just these instructions to go by.
Hi there is a video here about how to pick up stitches http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/knitting-tips
scroll down I think it is the middle of the page. Youtube also has a ton of knitting videos.
