Does anybody know if this exists? I haven’t seen it, but given that my LYS are very limited, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, just they they don’t have it if it is out there. :teehee: If this is something that is out there, is there a particular brand over another that is a nice one?
I am using this one right now.
I have used this one too.
eta-- just saw your last question. I can’t really tell the difference between the two as far as feel and texture. both very nice.
etaa (that’s edited to add again) The Artyarns was waaaaaay cheaper than the Dreams in Color though! Dreams in color was a more variegated color and the Artyarns is more stripey.
I love the ArtYarns Supermerino!

Swish from knitpicks is a washable merino. They may have a couple others too.

I KnitPick’s Swish. It’s SO soft.
Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sport and Shepherd Worsted are both superwash merino, as well as Karabella Aurora 8 (worsted), Aurora 4 (DK), and bulky. Joann’s has a house-brand, Sensations, and their 100% merino is VERY soft, inexpensive, and also superwash. They don’t market it as such, but I’ve run it through the washing machine enough times to know.
HTH!
Wow–I’m so glad I posted my question, because I had no idea that there was so much to choose from! And I had no idea that KP’s Swish was merino–I’ve looked at that yarn over and over again and never did I notice it said that it was merino wool!
I’m going to make a list of these brands, and the next time I visit a more varied LYS, I’m going to check these out. Thanks very much, everybody!!!
Yarn Doc–what’s the name of the Joann’s Sensations yarn that’s a merino?
Roxy Yarns has been having a HALF OFF sale on ArtYarns Supermerino Yarn but there isn’t much left.

I love Miss Babs She has some awesome yarns so soft and nice. They don’t even bother my wool allergy.
I haven’t used this before but I was actually thinking of ordering it
Oops - it doesn’t say it’s merino, but it’s so soft that for some reason I thought it was. I suppose it still could be - they don’t say it’s superwash either and it is. It’s MUCH softer than Patons Classic Wool, which calls itself merino. Here’s the link: Welcome JOANN Shoppers | Your Favorite Fabrics | Michaels
KP’s Swish is really soft and a lovely yarn for the price. I would chose this over any more expensive merinos myself because I love to save a buck. BUT, when you machine wash it, always wash the garment inside out. It has a tendency to fuzz and pill a fair bit, which happens mostly in the wash. So wash it inside out to keep it looking new on the outside. This is a good rule of thumb for ALL machine washable knits, by the way.
Oh, and FYI… socks knit in a superwash will still felt a little bit on the soles of the feet due to the extraordinary amount of heat, sweat and friction, but it’s nothing to be concerned about. If anything, it only makes them form fit to the wearer’s feet even better.
