My step-granddaughter’s birthday party was this past weekend. I had several things in progress for her, but none of them were close to completion. So, I went searching online for some quick-knit ideas.
I came up with a couple things, and took everything I would need to make them with me on vacation in the mountains.
First, I made these little slippers, using Lion Wool-ease Thick & Quick.
Next, I got to work on the bodice for a little sundress. When I finished the bodice, I cut fabric for a skirt, and sewed it on by hand. (I didn’t want to take my sewing machine all the way to the mountains.) :teehee: I was still doing the hem and adding a butterfly patch as we drove to the party on the way back home from the mountains.
It turned out nice!
You can download the free pattern on Ravelry.
It’s called “The Two Summer Sundress” by Natalie Larson.
Quick and easy.
The shoes look lovely and if in doubt The Sundress is an amazing pattern to make .
You have done a lovely job on this dress Sandy . I may have to make another one soon:)
I love that pattern. It is such a quick knit and so easy to make. Plus, cheap- I use Peaches and Cream and buy calico fabric and ribbon at Hobby Lobby for next to nothing. I have already made four of them, and I have 3 friends that are expecting twins. So I guess, if they all have girls, I’ll be making 6 more of them.
Yours looks great! Love the idea of making the slippers to go with them.
