Has anyone knit this pattern?
I’ve not done it but I think I might.
Thank you. I am an intermediate knitter and am having problems with the pattern. I ordered a revised digital pattern but think I will order the original and hope there is a typo in the digital one. I am at my wits end. Several people on revelry have made this and there is little feedback of problems they have encountered. If I find anything helpful in the original one I will let you know just in case you decide to make it.
Thanks again
You can give us the area that’s questionable if you like. I can see the free pattern on Ravelry or if there’s a different version, just quote a few lines for us. We can’t post a large portion of a pattern here due to designer copyright but often a few lines is enough.
It is a lovely and popular shawl.
I get to the shoulder shaping and I am missing a stitch. My stitch count is correct according to the pattern but no matter what I do I am missing a stitch.
She has you move the markers to be able to do the CDD so you now have 3 stitches and as you go along you end up with 2 YO together.
Are you working the lace insert for the summer shawlette? Which chart row are you working?
I’m not seeing the double yarn over. The yarn overs seem to be separated by either 1 or 3sts.
ETA: Is it the directions on p5 for the beginning of the chart where the row instructions meet up with the chart and there appears to be double yarn overs?
No it starts at the shoulder shaping row
Up to that point the stitch count is perfect
You don’t see the double YO because there aren’t” any in the directions but as you go along you run into that
Yes, I see where it is. Looking at the projects, there isn’t evidence for a double yarn over at the join of the chart to the right back and left back stitches. I would just work the single yarn over here.
Row 7: (see table below for stitch breakdowns for each section)
BB, slm, [yo, k to next m, yo; slm, k1, slm;] twice, yo, work Row 1 of Little Arrowhead Lace pattern across row
(see Chart, page 10), working section between dark lines 5 (4) times, yo, [slm, k1, slm, yo, k to next m, yo,] twice, slm, EB.
C
The chart , page 10 starts and ends with yo creating a double yarn over. I’d only work one here.
As far as the missing stitch, count the sts in each section between the markers and see if you can spot the missing stitch (maybe a missing yarn over? If not, I would ignore it and continue. One fewer stitch can either be ignored or increased at some random point.
I ripped it back to the beginning after the neckline. I just completed row 5 and my count istitch count is right. I will let you know as I go along where the wheels fall off. Thank you for following along with me.
Oh good. Maybe a lifeline will help?
I will try what you have suggested and keep you informed as I get farther into it again. It really is off at the shoulder shaping row 34 and 35. That is where it goes off even though my stitch count is right according to the chart. It just doesn’t make any sense. Thank you so much for your help with this. I really appreciate it. I will get back to you for sure.
I found Sandi’s contact information on her blog:
@Knitalong, have you moved the markers according to one of the suggestions in the pattern for row 34? I would like the markers on either side of the yo, k1, yo so that the yarn overs are now included between the markers but it’s your preference here. Is it possible that a yarn over got lost at this point?
One of the things I do is look at the lace sts and go over the chart matching it to the sts on the needle. Call each stitch by name as you do so, the knits, the yarn overs, the decreases.
I am 2 rows from the row to move the markers. Thank you for staying with me on this.
Thank you for the info
Good advice I will check this on the move the marker row. Also a life line is not a bad idea.
I am on row 31 and just finished the lace chart portion of the row. It ends with a YO and the front panel starts with a YO HOW CAN THIS BE This is so frustrating,
I would work a single yarn over here. When you look at the projects on Ravelry there isn’t evidence of a large eyelet here as you would see with a double yarn over. It might be worth a message to the designer to ask if you want to be sure.

This project seems like one of the prettiest for the continuity of the lace pattern.
