I’m not sure how to block the lace pattern open without stretching the ribbed band.
Any suggestions would be very welcome!

You know, I’ve knitted hats with lace before and never worried about blocking them because wearing them seems to open the lace up.
But thinking about it–I wonder if you could get a styrofoam ball from a craft store and put it over that to block–that way the ribbing would hang down and not get stretched.
