Substituting a bulky yarn

Hi everyone…I found this beautiful fluffy yarn, which is a bulky weight, and I would love to make a sweater for my granddaughter with it. However, I can’t find a pattern I like for this yarn. I have found a pattern using a worsted weight yarn. I was thinking I could use the bulky weight and just make a smaller size. Would this work? I am a fairly new knitter…I’ve made three sweaters, blankets, etc. I would love to have any input from more experienced knitters out there. Thanks.

I think it could work out. Figure out your sts/in with the heavier yarn and larger needles, and compare the sts used to the pattern sizes. Go with the closest one, you may need to adjust the length.
