I have decided to take up knitting again after a 60 year gap and have found an old pattern that looks
very easy but I cannot find the yarn. Can anyone suggest a substitute? The tension is 19st x 27 rows for 10cm square. It is for a T-shirt shaped loose fitting crop top but I will be adding to the length and and there is a lace patterned rib. From the picture it looks like it drapes a little so I thought a cotton yarn would be suitable. Recommended needles are 3.75mm and 5mm or possibly 6mm as I seem to be a tight knitter. YarnSub couldn’t find a substitute.
Welcome to the forum!
What is the name of your pattern or the source and number?
A cotton blend might have nicer drape than 100% cotton. You’ll need a worsted weight. The comments from others who have bought the yarn are often included at online stores. They can be very hepful.
Of course, a local yarn shop would be ideal for advice here.
