Stucked on Shaping Armholes!

:??
I might have tried too hard to understand the pattern and getting myself totally confused!

This is for a Cable Jumper with Crossover V-Neck.

Shape Armholes: (80 sts in total)
Keeping pat correct, cast off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows …76
Dec one st at each end of next and foll alt rows untill 66 sts rem.

Right, my question is:
If i cast off 2 sts at only the beginning of the next 2 rows, wont I get uneven armholes? one will be higher then the other side? Am I reading it correct? My interpretation is, cast off 2 sts at the start then continue and finish the row 1 (78 sts), then the next row 2, cast off 2 sts again (76sts) isnt that the finishing of row 2 edge higher then the row 1?

oh boy oh boy i m so confused!
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank u

Yes, it will be, by only one row and in the grand scheme it won’t make that much difference at all. The reason you have to do it this way is that you cannot bind off stitches at the end of a row. If you do, you’ll be left with a loop on your needle and a big gap between that and the next actual stitch.
