I am trying to make a bear sweater. I have done 26 row, then it says Keeping patt panel correct, cast on 15 sts at beg of next 2 rows for beg of sleeves. How do you cast on at the beginning of the 27th row, I got some knots. lol :wall:
I’m looking forward to some ideas.
It’s easier for me to think of it as casting on at the end of the row. Put the needle with all the stitches in your left hand. Yarn from the end in your right hand. Now cast on the 15 stitches. Now knit the 15 stitches and all the stitches on the needle. Now cast on 15 at the other end.
To cast on at the beginning of a row, I use the knit or cable cast on. These can give a little firmer edge than the backward loop cast on Marilyn describes. Cast on the sts, then knit them, knit the old sts, turn at the end of the row and cast on the next set of sts.
