Stretchy Cast On videos?

I want to make a shawl with the following pattern

K1, P1, K1, P4 across

Then just knit the knits and purl the purls.

Can anyone PLEASE recommend their favorite stretchy cast on videos?

Question #2 - Does your bind off have to “match” the cast on??

Thanks,
knitcindy

My favorite stretchy cast on is the knitted on cast on, and there’s a video for it on the free videos tab, just click the cast on button.

Technically, no, the bind off doesn’t have to match, but I like mine to match.

If I need a very stretchy one I use German twisted which is also in the video section.

Thanks for your recommendations! I watched one on youtube called something like Jen’s Super Stretchy Cast On but “Jen” only demonstrated 2 or 3 cast on sts slowly. Then she talked about sea lions and the rest of her sts were cast on SUPER fast. (for me)

No idea what the sea lions had to do with anything, but I’m looking for videos with VERY slow demonstrations.

Thanks again,
knitcindy

I promise Amy is slow in hers. And they have the merit of being short, so rewinding to watch again is easy!

Good luck with your new cast on!:muah:

I want to scream when I get sucked into a video like that one. I don’t care about sea lions when I want a cast on demo. If that makes me uncaring and narrow minded, so be it. I like short, sweet, to the point. I did try the cast on and decided that it wasn’t worth the effort. Maybe Amy’s video will persuade me otherwise.
