Strangest comments you have received about your knitting?

I was knitting on a sock today. This lady that I know (who I’ll admit is NOT known for her BRIGHT comments) says, “So when you finish with this, you actually wear these?”

Ahhhh, yes!

while sitting just about anywhere with needles and yarn in hand…

“You knit?”

When seen happily knitting away “but isn’t that boring?”

I get that too. I sorta just want to snap back and say, “Nope, I’m just trying to figure out how to put this darned fishing pole together.”

:roflhard: :roflhard: I love Jeff Foxworthy!

I haven’t knit much in public yet so no dumb comments…I’ll write them down if I get one! :roflhard:

“My aunt crochets.”

Soooooooo. . . . .

Ya’ll are too funny!!! :roflhard: :roflhard:

When I told my dh about the sock comment, he said “No, I’m knitting it for the airport for a windsock!” :rofling: :rofling:

I haven’t gotten any dumb comments yet, but this lady asked me if she could feel what I was knitting once.

That feeling thing has me TERRIFIED to take my christening gown out in public to knit!!! I’ve had my work fondled before, but it didn’t matter before.

At Border’s, I got “You must not have any kids at home”

Now, I don’t, but what kind of stupid comment is that? Like a mom can’t have a break??

Why do you knit socks? Wouldn’t it be easier to just go buy them?
Some people never get it :?

“Did you make the sweater you’re wearing?”

Grinning, “Yes, I did.”

“You did not.”

 Why do they even ask??

 Why do they even ask??[/quote]

These are from students who know I knit. They ask me about every single sweater I wear, even ones from Lands End that are made from the thinnest thread.

I’ve also gotten the response, “No f*in’ way!" and "Bullst!”

It’s just their way of showing appreciation for beauty. :roflhard: :roflhard:
