I think in the past sometime, I seen a thread or an idea on different ways to store circular knitting needles. I thought it was a hanging holder of some type. Can’t remember exactly.
Does anyone have any links to different storage ideas or items for sale for storing circular needles.
I now have several of the same size and would like to put them in some type of order, other than just tossing them in a box and having to dig for one the next time I need it.
You could pick up a three ring binder and a bunch of plastic pocket pages for it and store them in it with little tags identifying the sizes.
Or, if you have multiple pets you could just hang them around their necks, smaller sizes on smaller pets, larger sizes on larger pets…
Mason, you are one funny guy. :roflhard:
I like the case that came with my KnitPicks Options circ set. I’m pretty sure you can buy the case w/out the needles. There are little snap cases too, but I don’t know how much all those cost separately, since mine came w/ the set. You can also get fabric pouches with clear fronts, like pencil cases, at Walmart for $1, and they can be put into a binder.
I think it’s in Stitch n’ Bitch. It’s like a wall hanging thing that has slots for your needles and the hang off of it sort of? My aunt actually made one- they’re pretty neat.
Ann I am going to go and try and find that on their site, it sounds like what I was thinking I saw or heard of before.
Ann do you have a website for them, I looked up Stitch and Bitch and knitting groups or books come up.
mason you crack me up, i can just imagine the chinchilla with the 2mm ranging up to the horse with the 10mm :roflhard:
i was actually going to post the same question as well. i love the ring binder idea, its cheapm and chearful, like what i am hehe
It’s in the Stitch n’ Bitch book (the first one), it goes over a hanger so you can put it anywhere but you could totally make it into a wall hanging thingie too.
This isn’t my picture, but I found one online. This is the Stitch n’ Bitch circular needle holder.
I still like the pets idea
LOL, Mason!!
I use the pencil cases in the ring binder idea-works pretty well, but I am not organized enough to have marked the sizes with tags-I just keep a needle gauge with them. Or, I should say I try to~it’s usually missing :teehee:
Here’s what I have (picture from http://www.needletrax.com/knittingzone/circ_solution.htm.):
It’s called “The Circular Solution” if you want to search for it. I got it at my LYS, but I’m sure you can get it online or make your own.

Ha ha that’s funny
There is something messy about the look of that…
I have been dying to try to make my own little folder with pockets…If I ever get around to it…I will post…

I bookmarked a site: StitchesMarket.com (prior to buying the Options set w/holder included) and they have the Circular Solutions Needle Holder #2706, priced at $18.50. I do like the ring binder solution better, I think as it would be neater and handier to use. Good luck.
You could always take chip board or something just as heavy… punch 2 holes across from one another, insert gromets, (there are various circle cutters you can get that punch through chip board easily) and weave circ in one hole and out the other. You can create as many holes as you like. You can even paint the chipboard, decorate, or decoupage it then put a frame around it (no glass or back obviously) and hang with 2 inch wide ribbon for a shabby chic look.
When I didn’t have as many circs, I used to take my DD’s old toddler shirts that were hanging on toddler hangers and weave circs in one sleeve and out the other. I used the wide plastic hangers and sharpied the needle size on the hanger.
Mason mentioned a three ring binder and plastic cases. That’s basically what I did, too. I have a zippered three ring binder, and I used the three ring pencil cases for needles. I put my patterns in plastic three ring sleeves at the back of the binder. I keep both dpns and circs of the same size in each pencil holder. There are also numerous pockets inside the binder, where I keep other knitting supplies. It’s a bit bulky, but it holds all of my knitting supplies (except for my yarn, of course). I will try to attach a photo, but I have never tried to attach a photo to a message before!
