step by step sweater questions

pattern: Ravelry: Step by Step Sweater pattern by Florence Miller

I am making size E, and about to finish the raglan increase for the yoke.

When finished you should have 232 (252, 272, 296) (316, 344, 368) stitches on your needles.

Since the increase is 8 each row, size E should have 312 sts instead of 316 sts. Size F’s 344 sts is correct.

There is a link to errata in the ravelry pattern page, but I am unable to open it.
I also didn’t see anyone mentioning this final stitch count problem with size E in the comments.

Now divide stitches for the body and sleeves and put the sleeve stitches on hold as follows:
K up to the first marker, remove marker, k2, remove marker, put the next 48 (50, 52, 56) (60, 66, 72) stitches up to the next marker onto scrap yarn, cast on 4 (6, 6, 6) (8, 8, 10) underarm stitches, remove marker, k2, remove marker, k up to the next marker, remove marker, k2, remove marker, put the next 48 (50, 52, 56) (60, 66, 72) stitches up to the next marker onto scrap yarn, cast on 4 (6, 6, 6) (8, 8, 10) underarm stitches, remove marker, k2, remove marker, k to BOR.

I am not sure how I could back track from the following part of the pattern to see if indeed 316 sts is a mistake. But since I am a fairly new knitter, I just wanted to double check here before I continue with knitting this swearter.

Thank you so much!

I get 316sts after the increases at the raglan stitches.
Cast on is 84sts.
The increases are 8sts for 29 total rounds which is 232sts.
232sts + 84 = 316sts.

The next part of the pattern adds up to 316sts as well as best as I can fill in some of the numbers for front and back. (Disregard the cast on sts at the underarm for this check on the stitch count.)
From the beginning of round the sts are:
18+29=47
raglan sts = 2
2 + (29 x 2) = 60
raglan sts = 2
36 + (29x2) = 94
raglan sts = 2
2 + (29 x 2) = 60
raglan sts = 2
18 + 29 = 47
which totals 316sts.

The pattern details page mentions a correction toward the bottom.
" Please note: There is one error in this pattern. If you are including the German short rows, once you finish the short rows, you need to knit back to the beginning of round marker before continuing (as shown in the video). If you are not doing the German short rows, this is not a problem."

Really lovely, classic sweater.

omg, I think I made a big mistake, I actually only have 196 sts. I can’t believe I didn’t think that the yoke is too short. So if I complete my increases, I will have 316 sts.
Thank you so much for replying!!!

Good to find that out now. It sounds like you just need to keep on with the increases. You’re on track and about halfway there having made 14 increase rounds out of the 29.
