Spinning spider silk

This AM I came across a very interesting article about a gorgeous woven textile made with thread spun of spider silk. It’s gold in color, but did not require dyeing. http://danceswithwool.wordpress.com/2010/03/11/spinning-news-spider-silk/

Isn’t this just beautiful! I saw it last year and was amazed!

WOW, I love that pattern. I bet that would be super luxurious. I find it so neet that there are so many alternatives to cotton, wool, and silk. I’ve recently discovered Bamboo with is surprisingly soft. I wish I could touch the spiders silk shawl they have in that picture.

Another interesting one that I used recently was sugar cane! It was really soft and actually smelled slightly sweet.
