I do not want to work today. I want to knit. I’m DYING to knit. It’s very hard to stay concentrated on my (boring) work when I could be (creatively) knitting. :XX:
Somebody smack me please
consider yourself slapped NOW get to knitting!!! :XX: :XX: :XX: :XX: :XX: :XX: :XX: :XX: :XX: :XX:
Go Knit. :hiding:
it must be catching…I feel the same way…
I’m suddenly getting a headache too…
Be careful what you wish for!
I wanted to knit - I wanted to use some of my sick time because I lose it if I dont by the end of March. I was thinking of playing hooky just to knit and then out of the blue I got Bronchitis and now I am strapped to a nebulizer for part of every day for a few days. UGHHHHGHHGHH Blech!
:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:
How could I possibly smack you? My son was sick last week and he probably could have managed on his own (we live less than a mile from where I work). But I took two days off anyway. Granted, I love taking care of my baby, who isn’t a baby and rarely needs me anymore. But I also got in some quality knitting time!
I think I’m just having mental health issues which automatically makes me want to knit…so that I can regain some sanity…LOL!
I am giving everyone a “Get to Knit for a Day” card.
:XX: :XX: :XX: :XX: :XX:
If everyone had one there would be a signifigant drop in health insurance claims. And a rise in job productivity. Companies pay their workers to exercise - they should pay them to knit!
Do husbands honour that card, or do you still have to feed them dinner? :crying: Wanting time allbymyself to just knit! samm
:XX: I would love 1 whole day to myself to knit… :XX:. I can bearly get any done these days…To many people to take care of…Amy
I did the responsible thing today and worked…and then I was FOOLISH and agreed to take on an extra project this week! How stupid was that?! I’ll just consider it more $$$ for yarn!!! Anyway, I’ve been knitting this evening and I’m just taking a short break now and will get right back to it!
I agree - we all need a day to knit for our mental health.
:sigh: I completely agree, but off to work I go . . . .
I’d definitely rather knit than work. :XX: :XX: :XX: Unfortunately, knitting doesn’t pay the bills. I do read the forum at work so I sort of get a knitting “fix”.
I would love to knit all day too. But I get and hour lunch and I knit on my lunch. I look forward to that all day! :XX: :XX: :XX: :XX:
I shall come out of lurker mode; this thread needs a picture!
Now, somebody slap me so I’ll go back to work
:rofling:
SMACK
That was fun… next?
Yesterday I woke up at 4am with a massive borderline migraine. I took some meds and went back to sleep and woke up again to the alarm at 7:30. I got up, got sick and crawled back into bed… First thing I thought of when I told my husband I was staying home? “Oh good, I can start on my uggs when I wake up…”
OK, finally I have found a place where I can be admired. Believe it or not, I knit all day…all the time! Go ahead, slap me! Take out your frustration!
Like you guys, I used to work SOOOO hard. I was an executive assistant during the week, and a church organist on the weekends, so I never had a day off. I was playing for funerals and weddings all the time. PLUS, I was a single mother with 3 sons. It was crazy! :wall:
Luckily, my life has changed. I am now married to a very sweet man who doesn’t want me to work. Alert the media! My kids are grown now, so they don’t need my supervision. I’m an organist for a smaller church, so I don’t have as many weddings or funerals. I also teach piano lessons 3 nights a week. This gives me lots of free time during the day to pursue my true love - KNITTING! :XX:
I’m not trying to be mean to the rest of you. I just want you to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. One day, you’ll have time available for your hobbies. And the wait will be worth it.
