i would like to join, but i have never knitted socks before, or anything besides scarves :teehee: but i am willing to try if i can gat an easy pattern and someone wants my possibly messed up socks. :shrug:

EEk I didn’t see this! I am SO in. I’ve discovered the delights of sock knitting just recently but I’m not hugely experienced. I’ve been coming to work by train the last week or so (another two weeks of it too while they dig up the road outside the office) and managed to complete my boss’s Christmas pressie. My next project for train use is more socks - I’ve done 3 pairs now. Time to start experimenting with a pattern soon I think =D

This is a brilliant idea I am SO in for this too!

Registration begins today! So, copy/paste the following questionnaire into a PM to me, answer all the questions, and be sure to include your email address. I have a yahoo group set up for the swap and will send out invitations as soon as I get your info.

(A) light (fingering weight)
(B) medium (DK/sport weight)

2. What sock fiber do you prefer? (Consider here allergies to wool, aversion to acrylic footwear, need for non-wooly yarns owing to a warm climate, etc.)

[b]3. What are your color preferences? Are there any colors you refuse to wear, even on your feet?

  1. Will you wear funky, fair isle, or striped socks? Would you prefer textured solids–cables, lace, that kind of thing? Or…are you willing to throw caution to the four winds and let your partner’s creativity to determine the style of your sock?

  2. What is the length of your foot, from your longest toe to the back of your heel?[/b] (Stand on a tape measure to determine length–don’t measure a foot that isn’t planted firmly on the floor because the measurement will be waaaaay off.)

  1. Since this is a Sockintines swap–just in time for Valentine’s Day–would you be horrified if hearts appeared on your socks somewhere?

I think what I’ll do is this: I want everyone to PM the questionnaire to me and include an email address. I’ll set up the yahoo group that way. I’ll make a change in the post above, too, to reflect the new way of doing things.
