What are the next instructions in the pattern?
Can you give us a link to the pattern?
i thought i would knit then do round 1, round 2, knit but its not looking right , after this instep is the cuff part of the instructions
heres the pattern http://www.knittersreview.com/stepping_stones.pdf
thanks alot for replying
Which one are you doing and is the pattern actually shown in the link? Does it give separate instructions for the sole (bottom of the sock) and instep (top of the sock? There really should be specific instructions somewhere.
theres only 1 pattern in the link
I’m sorry. With the yarns used it looks like more than one pattern pictured. What exactly doesn’t look right?
Continue to work in the round, keeping to the established pattern on needle 2 and working in stockinette on needles 1 and 3 until the foot measures 1 3⁄4(2)" (4.5 [5]cm) less than desired sock length.
You do repeat rounds 1 and 2. Maybe a picture of your sock would help.
Your pattern starts off with a description of the stitches used for the Leg Pattern and then the Instep Pattern. You should begin knitting, however, with the next set of directions, the Cuff. Those directions give you the cast on and cuff directions. After 1 1/2" of the cuff, you’ll follow the Leg and then Heel Flap directions
thanks everyone but my grandma still dont understand lol she thinks by doing the repeating of round 1 and round 2 doesnt look right, i emailed the author of book for clarification another thing thats bothering my grandma alot is this author is telling her to use a size 2 needle for worsted. thanks though
Is your grandmother doing a cast on of 54 or 60sts? It should be some multiple of 6 sts for the pattern to work out correctly.
She’s absolutely right about the yarn weight. 28sts/4inches in stockinette is more a fingering or sock yarn. I don’t see how you can use a worksted weight here either.
54 she said

Is she using the Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock Heavyweight, 100% superwash Merino yarn? It says it’s a “light worsted-weight” which could mean it’s closer to a sport or double knit weight in thickness. My suggestion would be to choose the yarn she wants to use and figure out which size needles with that yarn will work with one of the cast on numbers.
KasL’s Happy Socks were made with a sport weight yarn. On the Ravelry page if you scroll down to hibis411’s Stepping stones on the right you’ll see they’re made with sock (fingering) yarn.
I’d use either a fingering or sport weight yarn, I might get a double knit weight to work.
shes using a different company thats plain worsted ill tell her what you said thanks
ok cool i just told her that about it not being true worsted and now it makes sense to her, what shes made so far is even too big for me and i got a size 11 mens shoe. shes going to try the other type yarn, thanks alot
