I got 6 lovely balls of Rowan Wool Cotton in the mail today. cloud9
And I discovered that “supurb stitch definition” translates roughly to “will show off your every tension error.”
I didn’t even know I had tension problems. I guess now that I think about it, all of my flat knitting has been with textured or verigated yarns and all of my knitting with smooth solid colors has been in the round.
So, while swatching with the wool cotton, I figured out that the right “arms” of my knitted Vs are a bit buffer than the left ones, which I guess means I’m purling looser than I knit.
I tried out this combination thing, and I like the fabric, and I think it’s faster, and I was like, so this is all very well and good for my guage swatch, but how do I make a right slanting decrease? Is there like a support group for combined knitters, or something?
