Sleeveless top help

Hi, I found this pattern for a sleeveless top - free crochet instruction. For a Sleeveless top with Cotton Queen yarn.
Only the pattern directions are in knitting not crochet. Can someone please help me figure out these directions? I have sent an email to the reply at the bottom of the page and have heard nothing.
I really like this top and would love to make it.

Thanks,
Barb

Wow, that’s a surprise, knitting instead of crochet!
Where in particular are you having problems with the pattern?

I’m afraid the header is simply wrong. The top is, in fact, knitted, not crocheted. There is unlikely to be any way to create that with crochet…you could maybe get close in Tunisian, but crochet texture is totally different.

There are several cute crochet tops here, maybe you could adapt a couple of them to get the look of the one you want?

That’s pretty. Thanks for including the link.

Are you thinking you’ll knit it and need help with the knitting instructions? Something similar looking in crochet is likely possible but to just substitute crochet stitches for knit stitches doesn’t work. Adding lace to adapt a pattern, as @ColoCro posted, might be your best option.

I pretty much understand most of the instructions. when I do the single and double cast on do I slip them to to right needle without knitting them.
I found a youtube video on how to knit the cast on stitches.
The rows between the pattern rows are they knit rows?
Could you please break down the following instructions: From row 9 on, knit following the diagram No 1. Repeat the diagram 2 times in height /repeat 2 times all rows from 1 to 11 included/ and 8 times in width.

I have decide to follow the pattern as it is knitted.
I just found it very interesting that the heading was a crochet pattern.

Thank you the link to the crochet tank and crop top patterns I will definitely check them out.

I will definitely knitting this top and have posted the instructions to salmonac that I need help with.

I sent them an email to ask them to correct it, and notice the page is based in Bulgaria. Maybe Bulgarian only has one word for the two crafts?? In fact, I just checked with Google Translate, and Bulgarian seems to have “Knitting” and “Knitting with a hook”, so that might have led to confusion if they used an auto-translation app.

I don’t think the key is correct in referring to a single or double cast on. The “single cast on” looks like a left slanting decrease (purl 2 tog through the back loop). The “double cast on” is a double decrease, likely a centered double decrease.
There isn’t evidence in the chart for increases at those symbols. Rather they are decreases that balance the yarn over increases so the stitch count remains the same.

The rows between the pattern rows may be knit row to maintain the reverse stockinette of the pattern rows but I can’t tell for sure because of the resolution of the photo. You could work a swatch of the chart to see what looks good to you.

For repeats of the chart, there are going to be 8 repeats along the row. When you finish rows 1-11 (maybe the pattern means through row 12 since you probably need the return row 12) of chart 1 repeat the rows 1-12 again. before going on to rows 13 and 14.

This is somewhat of a guess since the pattern leaves things out and perhaps loosely translates others. Definitely swatch.

Thank you I will make a swatch with the suggestions that you have made and see if that works.
Along with the 1-12 rows and 8 repeats along the row. Before going onto rows 13 and 14.
I will let you know how I make out and if I have any other questions I will be sure to ask.

Sounds like a good plan. Good luck with it and don’t hesitate to come back with questions.
