Sleeve increase

My pattern says continue in st st after the increases for sleeves until 24cms but it already measures 25cms and my tension is quite tight

What is the name of your pattern and designer?
Your row gauge may be different from that of the pattern. That’s very often the case, we get stitch gauge but not row gauge.
Have you finished the increases or do you still need a wider sleeve? How does the width of the sleeve toward the armhole now compare to a sweater you already have and like?

Does it mean to continue for 24cm MORE? From where you ended the increases? That’s assuming it’s for an adult sweater. Knowing what pattern and size you’re working would let us be more helpful.

Hi no its for 36months

There is no name on the pattern I bought it from. Etsy and it is for a 3year old

That’s helpful but can you give us a link to the Etsy page?
For 36months the usual arm width on a sweater near the top of the sleeve is about 7.5 inches (19cm). If you have that measurement then the sweater should fit and you can continue with the next direction. If you need more width, you’ll have to take out some rows and add in some more increases to reach the needed measurement around the upper arm.

i cant seem to add anything so have seent an email instead

I thought I recognized this pattern photo. It’s a Debbie Bliss pattern from “baby knits for beginners.” I’m not sure how Etsy gets away with selling patterns such as this.

I’ve reported it to Etsy. They get away with it because people don’t realize the page may not actually own the pattern, and don’t report it.

I’ve reported quite a few too. I don’t trust anything on etsy now.

It’s just amazing: the pattern and the photo too. I’ve written to designers who say that they’ll try but don’t have much hope. These Etsy patterns are unsupported as well since the sellers don’t have knowledge of the pattern steps.

Also there is another mistake too, where its picking up the stitches to knit the neck, which I have now had to re-knit the back lol

Oh gosh, more knitting! Have you managed to figure out the picking up sts for the neckband?

I have thank you, im not a professional knitter like my mum was so as I was following the pattern it looked like there was too many stitches so on going back on the row I lost 2 stitches and couldn’t work out how to pick up the ladder I had caused lol, when I realised the pattern was wrong I got frustrated and threw the back away and am now re-knitting it

Thank you for your help!

Amanda

Good for you for going back to this sweater. Sometimes the favorite projects are the ones that take more effort. It’ll be worth it in the end.

Thank you for your kind words

Sorry to hear your pattern has been frustrating.

You might already know this, but just in case you don’t, there are video tutorials of how to use a crochet hook to work up a ladder.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the project.

Thank you so much for your time and help
