how are you to pearl (yarn always in front) when pattern states wyib
Welcome to KH!
You slip one with yarn in back, but you’ll bring it forward for the p1.
It seems confusing. So the yarn is actually in the back before sl1?
Depends on your pattern. The info I gave you is just that one piece because I have no idea what comes before or after. If the yarn was in front before then of course you don’t have to move it.
Can you provide a pattern link and the pattern name? It always helps to give more information when asking questions. If you can’t provide a link then just the name and about 3 lines of the pattern where you are having trouble will be helpful. Don’t post the entire pattern because it’s against copyright rules.
Website is skacelknitting.com and the pattern is Bristle Cone Beanie
Thanks for the info. Here’s a link to the Ravelry page.

So I’m assuming you’re on Row 4 correct? Here’s rows 3, 4, and 5
*Rnd 3: K1, sl1, k1, repeat from * around.
Rnd 4: P1, *sl1 wyib, p1, repeat from * around.
Rnd 5: Knit.
Here’s how you do Rnd 4:
Purl 1, *move yarn to back and slip 1, purl 1. Repeat from * around hat.
The original P1 isn’t repeated so there won’t be two p1 together.
Does that help?
Yes it does! Thank u!
Hello everybody. It is my first time in the forum. I am a beginner. The i-cord pattern says Sl1 wyib, p1. To purl the second stitch,
do I bring the yarn to front after slipping the first one? I read the answers, but I am still confused.
Yes. Yarn at back for slip one, then to front for purl.
