Sl1-kw?

what doess this mean, and how do I do it please.

I get the slip one part.

The ‘kw’ means ‘knit wise’ - insert the R needle into the stitch as if you were going to knit it, but just move it over to the R needle.

so let me see.
i slip one (sl 1) to the right needle and then where does the knit wise come in?

The way you insert the R needle into the stitch is the same as the way you insert it if you were going to knit it. Knitwise is not a separate instruction, it goes with slipping the stitch. Slipping purlwise would be to insert the needle as if you were going to purl it.

:muah:

Thank you…for some reason, I read more into this than necessary…if it’s sl as to k…seems it could have just said that, eliminating the -…like maybe i was supposed to s1 twice.
thanks for the patience…as always.

It’s just how some patterns are written. Bernat’s patterns drive me nuts as they use a period after each term instead of a comma, so sl 1, k1, psso looks like sl 1. k1. psso. I think of a period as the end of a sentence or text, commas separate the steps.
