My directions are as follows:
With yarn in front , sl 2, Purl to end.
How do I do this?
First move the yarn to front. You do it in the same way as when you move the yarn when switching from knitting to purling. Instead of purling you move two stitches over from left needle to the right, then you begin to purl

Do you slip stitch in Purl mode or knit mode. Pattern is silent on the issue.
Normally you slip stitches purlwise, unless stated (knitwise changes the orientation and makes the stitches tighter).
