Sl 2 to cn, hold in front, k2, p1 from cn

Hello,
I am knitting a cabled sweater but there is one part of the pattern that I can’t understand! It says “sl 2 to cn, hold in front, k2, p1 from cn” The part I don’t get is: What happens to the other stitch on the cable needle? When I look at it on the graph the whole maneuver only takes up 3 stitches, so is it supposed to actually be, sl 2 to cn, hold in front, k1, k1 & p1 from cn? I’m confused!

I don’t know. But another possibility is slip 1 to the cable needle, hold in front, K2, p1 from cable needle. Can you find any errata anywhere? If not try the different options and see which one makes the most sense.

The ‘knit 2’ are the next 2 sts on the Left needle, then p1 from the cn. So you probably only slip 1 st to the cable needle, not 2.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I thought the same as both of you at first, assuming that the “sl 2” was just a typo or something but there’s another part of the pattern that says the same thing except knit instead of purl: sl 2 to cn, hold in front, k2, “k1” from cn. It still has that “sl 2” where one of the stitches on the cable needle never gets resolved. I doubt it would be a typo twice. Plus its in the legend part of a pattern book so I think they would have double and triple checked for errors there before it was published. But maybe I will try just slipping 1 to the cable needle and see what happens…

Oops nevermind!! When I read MerigoldinWA’s response I thought she just asked if I found any errors but then realized it said errata, I looked that up, found out what it means, and discovered her suggestion fixed the problem! It was a typo twice but has a corrected version online. Its supposed to be p2 from cable needle at the end. Thanks!!

What does it tell you to do after the 3 sts? How do both cable directions read?
