I have three cats, and I work with rescue cats. I have been trying to find a simple cute pattern that I can knit for the cats. I want to stuff the toys with catnip (of course). I tried searching online but they seem complicated. Anyone have an easy pattern?
I want to make a few of those for my grandkitties! I’m also going to make a few of these, but thought they might be too complicated for you based on your request.
Pete, it depends on what your skill level is. If you’re comfortable with double points, knit a simple tube. It’s a great way to use up scraps. Otherwise, you can make a simple rectangle and seam it up. Make the tubes or rectangles wide and long enough to fit around a pill bottle and a little bit extra at the top and bottom. Put a few jingle bells in the pill container and put the child proof cap on. With a yarn needle, gather the top and bottom edges with a simple running stitch, pull tight, and tie the ends tightly. You don’t have to weave in the ends. It’s a cat. They don’t care. It will get tough wear, so I would suggest wool scrap yarn that will eventually felt on its own or Red Heart Supersaver yarn. Cats love bright colors.
