Yes, you would flip it over. Just treat the circular needles as you would if you were knitting on straights.
I’m an english knitter also, so YF means that you would purposely move the yarn toward yourself. I believe that this will create an extra stitch. I suck at explaining things, so If i’m not making sense just tell me.
The ‘right side’ is the one you want to look at–the side the world sees.
For the YF, bring the yarn to the front as if you are going to purl, and then knit the next stitch. It will create an eyelet and an extra stitch, which you will treat on the next row as a normal stitch.
