Cut & Paste the link for $6.40 Chunky Cashmerino. I wanted Superchunky, but at this deal, Chunky will do!! ![]()
Made it to LYS. Oh my, how wonderful cashmerino is! It made my heart pitter patter, so soft and just sheer luxury. I bought a skein of the DB Superchunky Cashmerino.
I started knitting with it… then went to the bulky Plymouth Mega, which is 75% acrylic 25% wool. I had also bought a couple skeins of that afer the owner suggested I thoroughly consider the person I am knitting for over my personal tastes. SHE WAS RIGHT ON. I called my girlfriend and asked her, “Would you prefer something more luxurious that requires higher maintenance or something that is still nice trading in luxury for ease of care?” She took no time to answer with “easy care”, so I’ll save my dollars and knit her blanket with acryllic. But u better believe DB Superchunky Cashmerino will be my first blanket for me starting with this lovely skein that just melts off my hands onto the needle and oh it’s just amazing. Can you tell I like it?
So, I’m all set ladies. I’ve got a pattern, a yarn and some needles :XX: and a most luscious blanket in the making for me :happydance:
Thanks alot
Good choice on the Plymouth! I just got some Plymouth Encore Worsted for an aran blanket I’m making next, but I haven’t started yet.
So what color did you get?
Plymouth, I got a variegated yarn that is pastel pink blue and cream. DB Superchunky Cashmerino, I got white, which is actually very cream, not white at all. I guess they call it natural… I’m not sure cuz I chucked the label. I had a heck of a time tryin to get the yarn knot out of the center. I ended up pulling it apart much so that I just resorted to pulling the yarn from around instead of center pull. (cringe)
The acrylic snags alot more than the cashmerino. I don’t know if that’s cuz I’m a new knitter, but I just love the Cashmerino. It’s like knitting a cloud. Beyond this blanket, for Ms. Low Maintenance, I doubt I’ll knit with synthetics again. They just don’t give me that escape I find in knitting with the wooden bamboo sticks and something that grew out of the ground or that an animal gave up. The natural fibers make me feel all earthy and wholesome…connected I guess. It feels REAL to say the least
What a great thread! I been thinking about blankets. I made a baby blanket and wanted to make a big ole adult one out of scraps. Now I have lots of ideas. Good luck on yours. That yarn looks yummy. I wish the net had feel-o-vision
I’m sure I’ll be making a scrappy ghan one of these days! The idea really appeals to me too. I’m inspired by all the quilts I’ve been looking at.
PS - I love Anne Lamott!
