Should I do a wrap and turn even though it doesn't specify?

I’m very confused here, I am working on yarnspirations bernat purrfect knit pullover. Size 6 so orange stitch count. I’m at the left neck shaping. I was first confused by the fact it didn’t say turn work after each row, but figured out by the following sections of instructions that I only work the original 22 stitches from row 1 until the arm hole reaches 6 1/2 inches, I’m correct in this thought process yes? Once I figured that part out I got super confused by what I found online, everything says to wrap and turn my work not just turn the work… should I use the wrap and turn method or just turn is my question? Please help me figure this out before I have a panic attack and give up on this pattern haha

Hello
You have done it just right.
You are working a section which goes from the bottom of a neck hole up to the shoulder. Later you will go back to the stitches on hold and work it in a mirrored way to create the other side of the neck hole.

There are no wraps needs here.
This neck shaping can be called short rows because, as you have seen, only part of the original row has been worked, so it is shorter than a full row.
A different type of short rows (various methods, wrap and turn, German short rows, Japanese short rows…) may take place in the middle of a piece of fabric to add additional fabric in the centre for some shaping reason (a higher back neck, a larger chest area, a larger stomach area and so on, or to perhaps produce a wave in the fabric) and in these cases there is often (but not always) a method to ensure no hole or gap is made at the turn. This is when wrap and turn or another short row method is used, to close the holes.

The type you are doing, I prefer to call neck shaping and many patterns call it this. You don’t need to wrap unless a pattern says to.

You may find it more comfortable to put the stitches you are not using onto a holder or yarn length to save for later. I usually prefer this although it is not strictly necessary.

Hope this helps

Perfect! I was hoping my thoughts were right here hahaha I get stressed and don’t want to back track and redo things hahaha
