Yesterday I started a shawl by co 2 and then k1, yo at the beginning of each row to increase.
Have any of you tried this, will it work?

It should work (I just said this in your blog–deja vu). It will increase evenly as you go, and it’s good for when you’re not sure you have enough yarn for a particular pattern–stop when it’s wide enough or you run out.
When you get to the top, you might want to string a piece of yarn through the stitches and take it off the needle to see how wide it actually is. Hard to tell when it’s on the needles, though I guess you could use your gauge to figure that out.
Thanks again Ingrid.
Putting the yarn through the top is such a great idea, I would have never thought of doing that. I would have probably just casted off not knowing if it was right or not. You may have just saved my shawl. :teehee:
That’s why I like my Denise’s. I have two sets and just extend them till I can lay the item out flat and see how it looks. Don’t have to worry about moving sts back and forth. :teehee:
