Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I’m knitting my first ever jumper and im doing it in double moss, the only over time ive used this stitch was making a snood so i didnt have to worry about any decreases.
thus far my pattern has been:
R1: k1 p1 k1
R2: p1 k1 p1
R3: p1 k1 p1
R4: k1 p1 k1 rep
now im Shaping the raglans the pattern is:
Next Row (RS): K2, K2tog, patt to last 4 sts, sl1, K1, psso, K2.
Next Row (WS): P2, P2tog, patt to last 4 sts, P2togtbl, P2.
Working all decs as set by last 2 rows, now dec 1 st at each end of next
29 [39: 45: 47: 59] rows
im reading that as the pattern now wants me to switch to a two row pattern rather than 4 but wont this change the moss stitch? is it better to keep my original 4 row pattern and decrease like this?
R1 (RS): K2, K2tog, patt to last 4 sts, sl1, K1, psso, K2.
R2 (WS): P2, P2tog, patt to last 4 sts, P2togtbl, P2.
R3 (RS): P2, P2tog, patt to last 4 sts, P2togtbl, P2.
R4 (WS): K2, K2tog, patt to last 4 sts, sl1, K1, psso, K2.
or does it mean that i decrease on rows 1 and 2 then knit 3 and 4 and normal? though i worry that would make my jumper too long?
thanks for your help, im not a very experienced knitter or the fastest so im a but reluctant to just try it without advice in case im wrong and have to unpick
