Shape neck of front autumn rose cardigan

Good day. The pattern is so confusing. I have 36 stitches on needle to shape the neck of cardigan front. Pattern read as follow. Row1 right side. Knit 13, slip 13 sts just kni to holder for front band, work in establish pattern to end of row. Continue in pattern. That leaves me with a hole almost in the middle of the row.

Welcome!
What pattern are you making? Can you give us a link or a pattern name? Is this a cardigan?
If you knit 13sts. slip them to a holder and then continue working the row, where is the hole?

I don’t know if the stitches on the holder is in the correct position. How
do I pick up the stitches from there to do the neckband. I’ m so confused.
The sleeves are also done.

Ah, ok, you’re almost there. You will have to rip out the shoulder that you’ve knit. Rip back to the row with the sts on a holder and then put the stitches onto the needle one at a time as you pull the yarn out . Slip the sts from the holder onto the needle too. Probably it’s easiest to rip out the rest of the row and have the entire row on your needle ready to start the row fresh.
What you re-knit this row, you want to knit 13sts and then slip those same 13 edge or front band sts onto the holder. It looks like you knit the front band and then slipped the next 13sts to the holder. That giving you the hole.
When you finish the shoulder, it’ll be easier to see how to put the 13 front band sts onto a needle, join new yarn and pick up sts.

Good day. Thank you very much for your help. Your instructions was so easy
to understand. I made the mistake of knitting the first 13 stitches and
putting the next 13 stitches on the holder, creating the hole in the
middle. I can’t believe that I did not read the instructions correctly
which created a lot of frustration for me. I 'm happy to say that I just
completed the two fronts now and that I’m back to a happy knitter again.
Thank you once again for taking out the time to assist me and turning my
despair into joy. I love this forum. God bless you all.

I’m delighted that you’ve got it. Such a stunning cardigan. We would love to see a photo of the finished sweater. It looks like beautiful knitting in the bit shown in your photo.

Thanks for the link, GG.

Hi GG
I completed the Jersey and made the collar just longer. This is the
finished product and I’m quite happy with the results. Thank you for your
kind assistance.

Faith
