Can you explain the following:
(Patt3tog) 1 time, (patt3tog, patt 5) 9 times to go from 75 stitches to 55 stitches.
The pattern is:
1st row *k1, p1 rep from* to last st, k1
2nd row p1, k1, p1, rep from to end
3rd row p1, k1, rep from to last st, p1
4th row k1, p1,k1, rep from to end.
Thanks
For the decrease row, either knit or purl 3sts together then work the repeat of (knit or purl 3sts together, work 5sts in pattern) 9 times.
This kind of decrease keeps the seed or moss stitch pattern aligned while still decreasing.
If your dec row is p,k,p,k,p,k,p,k,p and the italicized sts are the 3 that are worked together, they would have a knit on either side so the italicized sts would be worked as a purl 3 tog.
Same goes for this example. k,p,k,p,k,p,k,p. In this case the 3 italicized sts are worked together as a k2tog stitch.
