Hi everyone. My name is Adele, I live in beautiful New Zealand and are new to this forum.
I have been a knitter for many many years and decided to embark on a baby shawl when I found out that my daughter was expecting our first grandie. I have almost finished it and was wondering what is the best way to sew on the border. The pattern I have used is Emu 8512. Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks.
Welcome to the forum!
That’s an elegant baby shawl. You might either use mattress stitch or the Bickford seam. It depends a bit on the edges that you’ll be joining.

Congratulations on the expected grandchild. That’s great news.
If you’re knitting the width of the border I find using the last stitch of the border and picking up one from the edge of the shawl then knitting them together is a great time saving way to do it, also I hate sewing borders and edges together. If you need any help I found lots on Pinterest
