It looks like you’ve folded the sleeves correctly. This is the pattern where you place markers on the sleeves 2cm before the cast off. The end of the sleeve with the markers should be nearest the armhole opening. If the orange marker is that 2cm marker then you should place that end into the sleeve opening.
Knitting and sewing construction are similar. Generally, you sew the shoulder seams first. Then you sew the sleeves to the armholes. Then you begin at the end of the sleeves and sew up the sleeve seam. You continue at the underarm and all the way down the side seams to the hem of the garment. Then you attach the collar. If it’s a hood, sew the top seam, then attach hood to the neckline. Attach buttons or zipper. Hem up sleeves and bottom hem (if sewing a garment with machine).
