Seaming/grafting two moss stitch panels

Hi,

I’m sort of new to knitting and this is the first project I’ve taken on without a “net” (pattern). It turned out very well - each of the pieces did - but I wasn’t thinking ahead.

It’s a baby blanket with 3 panels, each knit in moss stitch. I have been researching and experimenting with different ways of seaming it together but it just ends up looking messy. I’ve been trying mattress stitch but it’s not really working.

Any advice?

It shows mattress on stockinette and garter. You can try a combination, depending on the stitches you’re working.
