Hi,

I am trying to do a scarf and I am having problems with.

The directions seem quite simple but the pattern is not coming out.

The directions are as follows:you start out with 13 stitches
Row 1: YO,SL1; *K1, YO,sl1; repeat from * 5 times more-20st
Row 2; K2 tog; YO, sl 1, K2 tog; rep.from * 5 times more-19 sts.
Row 3: YO, sl1; K2 tog; YO, sl 1; rep from *5 times more-20 sts.
Row 4: K2 tog; *YO, sl1, K2 tog; rep from * 5 times nire-19 sts.
Row 5 through Row 12
Rep rows 3 and 4 four times more.

Now the pattern should look like a stockinett stitch, but no matter which I do it I don’t get that pattern, I get stick like pattern and twisted looking.

Can somebody help me, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Do you have a picture of what it’s supposed to look like and what it’s turning out to look like? It can’t look like stockinette, since that’s knit on one side and purl on the other. This is a lacy, slip stitch pattern.
