ainee! i just made a baby hat today and didn’t do anything but cast on, knit knit knit, decrease (by knitting two together), and bind off…you have allll the skills necessary to make baby hats!
I read about this a few weeks ago and I’m definitely making some hats. I also convinced one of my friends to try one of these, and she just learned to knit a few weeks ago! We’re planning another “knitting weekend” soon so I can help her make a hat then. xxx
Ainee, I agree - check out the patterns they have listed in the info on the website. I had never made a hat before either, but the pattern was great and used fairly simple stitches. Definitely a good hat pattern to start with. Good luck!
Thanks for pitching in … i had completed two hats so far …one i made it with trinity stitches (purple color yarn) and the other (vanilla color) was rice stitches… xxx
okay so i just looked through the PDF again more closely this time. :teehee: the first time i read it, i had the impression that we were supposed to send our hats to the white house and i was thinking…“ummm…i am pretty sure bad things will happen to any package i send to the white house…someone else will have to send it!” :teehee:
yeah i am pretty sure i am on some watch lists but i really am very passive!
Brenda. LOL You are welcome to send them to me and I can send them on to the White House.
I sure wish there was another address to send it to. These babies need these hats. I understand why they want us to send them to the WH, and I will send at least one there. (As well as any other hats from anyone who thinks thier package may not be accepted). But I want to send these straight to babies who need them. How many babies are going to be born between now and when the package from the White House gets there?
i think this org will do the distribution to the country that need them… i will not send those letter to the white house… i doubt they will read them though don’t u tink ???
It is WONDERFUL that you all are participating in this charitable knitting.
I just wanted you to know that we have a Knit A Long going for this - you can find it HERE. Feel free to post how many hats you completed over there, so I can add you to our KH’er Caps to the Capitol Ticker (in my signature).
