Saddle shoulders!

Hi there! I’m new to the forum and live in Lichfield, England, and hope someone can help me with sewing together a lovely cable knit cardigan I have just completed.

The instructions just say to sew the saddle shoulders onto the front and back cast off stitches, but I seem to be getting into an awful mess!
Is there an easy way to do this? I am an experienced knitter but just can’t seem to get the hang of this!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Irene

One thing you can try is seam or pin the sides of the sweater together. Next pin the sleeve into the lower armhole and up the sides of the armhole. Then continue pinning the saddle along the shouldet cast off on the front. Repeat this for the back and see if it all looks even before you seam it in place.

Thank you so much for your reply to my query. I’ll give your idea a try and let you know how I get on.
Thanks again, Irene:hug:
