Russian Join, where have you been?

Just today I learned to do the Russian join using Amy’s video. :cheering:

For some reason, the wool yarn that I am working with didn’t want to do a felted join.

So, I just had to share because no one around here seems to care just how cool this technique is. No more ends popping out of the sides of scarves!

I love the Russian join, too… I show it to everyone I can!

The Russian join works well for superwash wool that won’t felt.

Wow, that’s totally cool! And it looks really easy, too! Thanks for sharing!:cheering:

Can you tell where the join is?? Does it make things bulkier? I’m looking for a good join for a solid coloured garment that I’m making and weaving in ends always shows (at least to me!). Is the Russian join more invisible?

You can’t tell where the join is unless you get your project right up next to your face AND you know what you are looking for. But, if you’re worried about bulkiness, you can cut out some of the plies where the two yarn intertwine. That way it’s the same thickness of the yarn before and after the join.

yes but how and where do i find hoe to do it?

Amy did a video here. Just scroll down a bit; it’s in the “Joining Yarn” section.

Yay!!! My question exactly! Thanks so much!
