Arg. I think I’m starting over on Romantic Hand Knits “Gigi” scarf for about the 10th time at least. Last time I tried I got about half way through the second time through the lace pattern and realized I’d dropped a stitch a few rows back. While trying to recover… well, I ended up unravveling the whole thing.
Anyway I’ve been trying this pattern in DiVe Teseo yarn (the green one). It’s no Tilli Tomas Disco Lights, but I wasn’t about to pay that much for yarn this soon into knitting. I’m seriously considdering it now, because after going to a store and discussing gauge with someone I realized my scarf in DiVe Teseo will never be nearly as nice. Not that I expeceted it to be.
I normally don’t mind restarting something. But the fact that I have to do this i-cord again each time is really starting to make me tear my hair out. I’ve been re-using as much of the yarn as I can, so consequently it’s shedding little fluffs of green lint every once in a while. I’m very annoyed.
This shouldn’t be this hard. I know how to do everything required to knit this thing. But for whatever reason Gigi and I seem to be starting rocky relationship. Any tips on how to cope with a pattern that no matter what you do you just can’t seem to get right? Am I just being too stubborn by continuing to try?
