Rolled Edge

I want to change my pattern, it is a bottom up pattern and I don’t want ribbing. To do a rolled edge bottom, do I just start knitting ST ST? Or is there something else I have to do. The body of the sweater is knit in the round.
Thanks

Yes, simply start knitting in stockinette (stocking) stitch.

If you want, you can work the first couple of inches with a smaller needle. It will keep the sweater from flaring out at the bottom, yet roll nicely.

I just started a rolled edge sweater for my dd this morning. The first 1.5 inches at the bottom is done with a needle one size smaller than the rest of the sweater, and yes, in stockinette.

Thanks everyone, all the advice really helps me.

I made a sweater that called for rolled edges and it said to use a smaller needle for the first inch or so. It worked…the roll only goes up that far and stays small.
