I am doing a ribbing of k2, p2. It seems that the second k stitch is sometimes loose (kinda open). I have tried to tighten the stitch and that doesn’t work. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,

Nothing, that’s the nature of ribbing. Some people work the purl st after it through the back loop, the twist can tighten up both stitches. Blocking usually evens everything out.
Are you talking about the space between the second knit and first purl? That is a common problem. It’s actually caused by the first purl…when you purl there is more yarn to wrap the stitch and it becomes loose.
Are you knitting in the round? If so I figured out how to do this and put on my blog.
A way to tighten if you’re knitting in the round ONLY -
If you’re knitting flat you can wrap the a yarn under instead of over on that first purl, but when you turn your work you’ll have to knit into the back of the resulting twisted knit stitch.
