I am reading through the pattern for the Ribbed Lace Bolero and am having some difficulty understand this part :
"p1 (c1f [p into the stitch that was moved behind, k into the stitch that was moved in front], c1b [k into the stitch that was moved in front, p into the stitch that was moved behind] ) repeat cabling until 1 stitch left, p1"
If anyone can explain that a little bit less confusingly…please. help.
Also, when it says to switch to sz 10.5 ndl after row 1, does that mean that I just knit row 2 with the larger ndl or do I actually have to swap it out?
Here is the link to the pattern: http://kellymaher.wordpress.com/2007/07/04/ribbed-lace-bolero/
I´ll try ( and please jump in someone else if I¨m explaining it wrong… )
OK, p1, then take the next stitch off the needle onto a cable needle or DPN ( I used a crochet hook, don´t have cable needles yet ) and hold it in front of the work. Then knit the next stitch on the needle, and purl the stitch that is in front on the cable needle. Then you do the opposite with the c1b.
You have to swap both needles and use the bigger needle for the bolero until you reach the opposite end after the c1f bit.
Check your stitch count and make sure it’s a multiple of 4 sts, plus another 2, not a multiple of 6. It should come out if you have the right number of stitches.
