Reversing pattern

Hi all I’m knitting a cardigan and have completed the right front and pattern states reverse instructions for left front. It’s quite a complicated pattern so do I have to right it all out again . Any ideas please

Hi , Welcome to KH,
I think that just means to reverse the side you work for the neck and armhole decreases, left front and right front, I don’t think it affects the overall stitch pattern. It usually means you begin the decreases either at the beginning of the row or at the end of the row for the opposite side. You shouldn’t need to write it all out.
Hope this helps

I agree it’s probably just the shaping at the neck and armhole edges and often a pattern might read ‘dec at neck edge’ or ‘dec at armhole edge’ in which case you can just look at the work and see which edge is which.
There may, or may not, be a button band. This would also need to be put on the opposite edge so it runs up the centre. Some cardigans these are worked with the main body, some the button band is added later.

If there is a specific row or 2 you can’t work out how to reverse you could post them here for help, but not a large section of the pattern due to copyright.

Hi thank you for the quick reply.
I’ve attached photos of one side of the cardigan and I now need to do the opposite side reversing the pattern so it’s next to the button band. Sorry if I’m not explaining it well enough.

This looks lovely so far. Very neat and the cable pattern is pretty.

Is there a particular part you can’t work out how to reverse?
The general idea is the follow the pattern again but making sure you do a mirror of the shaping. For instance cast on the same number, work the first rows, the hem making sure to put the button band and cable pattern at the end of the row rather than the beginning of the row.

The stitches which make up the cable band are symetrical anyway so you don’t have to reverse every stitch, just rather than working the cable then the stockinette you will work the stockinette, then the cable.
