Please help a beginner who has knitted several cable stitch scarfs & afghans; but is stuck! Instructions states, “3/3 RC (3 over 3 right cable) Slip 3 to cable needle and hold in back & k3, then k3 from cable needle” I’ve done this and it seems correct the doesn’t. Am I missing something? Help!
It looks right to me…but can you give a pattern name and/or link?
Yes. Maybe it’ll look better to you after you’ve knit a few more rows.
Thank you so much for the reply! It’s Lion Brand Free pattern Reversible Cable Scarf Pattern #50368. And, I have done about 22 rolls and it still doesn’t look like the pattern. The patterns on the inside of the borders do not look the same. The cables do look okay. This is the first time, I’ve done a reversible cables. I have knitted cable items before and they have turned out fine, but this doesn’t seem to be correct. The abbreviation “RC”, which I thought meant right cable, which you place the 3 stitches to the back. I truly appreciate the help.
That’s a right cross, cable needle sts to back. Here’s the Rav link in case it helps, although you’ve seen photos of the scarf before.
Thank you! I’m going to continue knitting and see how it look.

Thank you! It does & it doesn’t, but I’m going to finish it I think. I just wanted a reversible cable pattern.
It looks very nice. What do you not like about the look of the cables?
Well, the Reversible Cable Scarf is finished. And, I’m very pleased!! I want to thank everyone who came to my aid.
Very nicely done! Enjoy wearing the scarf.
