WHen I knit the knit stitch it looks like a purl what am i doing wrong
A knit stitch looks like a purl on the other side; the purl looks like a knit on the other side. The difference is which side you’re doing and how you make them on that side. If you knit a row when you turn it over it looks like a row of purls, but the front side is V sts. If you want garter, you knit every row and you’ll see the Vs in between the purl bumps. If you want stockinette, you knit one row, purl the next row and all the sts are knit on one side and purl on the other.
Are you inserting your ndl in the correct direction?

I do all the videos exactly but every time it lookes like those little ridge thingies not a v like the knit stitch is supposed to
If you are knitting every stitch on every row you will end up with bumps rather than v’s as you are producing garter stitch. There would be v’v between thee ridges if you stretch it out and look closely.
Is there anyway you can post a photograph of your work or what you are doing so we can get a clearer idea?
If you want all the knit sts, the Vs, to be on one side and the bumps on the other side, you have to knit 1 row and purl the next and keep alternating. Click on the Tips tab and go down to Basic Stitches and watch the video for Stockinette stitch.
