Really confused with cables

Hi

I am knitting an Aran throw. I am not a particularly advanced knitter. I can knit fast and well- I have done a few simple garter stitch and moss stitch cushion covers and bags and scarves etc.
Now I am starting an Aran throw.
I just have one query, if someone could help

When it says C4B. Does this mean I put the cable needle at the back of the work, furthest away from me, or do I put the cable needle where I know the “back” of the work is, ie. not the front, where the cables will be. THanks this will be a lot ofhelp

Jen

You let the cable needle hang to the back of the work. The cable crosses will all be done on RS rows, so there’s really no difference.

Thanks very much

That is such a help. So whether it will be the “front” of the work or not, the C4B just goes to the back, and C4F just comes to the front, near me?

That’s right.

THanks so much
I really appreciate the help :D:D:D
