Reading patterns

My brain has left my body, and I have no clue where it went.

Help me interpret this please:
[CB, p1(2), k4, p1, k4, p1(2)] twice.

I read this as cable back, purl 1, purl 1, knit 4, purl 1, knit 4, purl 1, purl 1 - and then repeat that all over again.

According to my pattern (Dashing), cable back involves slipping 4 stitches to my cable needle, knitting 4 off the DPN and purling 1, and then knitting the 4 stitches off my cable needle.

It didn’t come out right, so I’m obviously reading this pattern wrong.

Do you think that the 2 in parentheses means for a larger size ? My patterns always read that way.

I didn’t think of that. I bet that’s what it is. I’ll go back and read the beginning of the pattern. Thanks!
