Reading Pattern - Moss Stitch

I am working on a toddler cardigan. The pattern states:

Cast on 77 sts.

Moss st row K1 (P1, K1) to end
Rep this row 5 times more.

May question is…What do the mean by this stitch?

  1. Do they mean do the K1 (p1, k1) stitch 5 times

or

  1. Do they mean do the K1 (p1, k1) stitch for rows 1, 3 and 5
    and do p1, k1 for rows 2 and 4

Thanks for any help!!

The instructions mean to K1, P1, K1, P1, etc to the end of the row.
On the next row, repeat the same sequence, K1, P1, K1, P1, etc to the end of the row. Because you have an odd number of sts, you’ll end up knitting the purls and purling the knits.
Do 6 rows total of this pattern.
