Raglan sleeves

Dear friends,

I am knitting the Party Bunny from book by Val Pierce.
Knitted Rabbits is book title.

I have knitted all the pieces for the dress.
Please help me understand the section for the neckband. I have no experience with raglan sleeved.

Here are the instructions.

Sew raglan seams on back, front and sleeves.
With right side of work facing…beginning at left back, pick up and knit 6 sts from left back, 10 sts from first sleeve, 5 sts down side of neck, 6 sts from front neck, 5 sts from other side of neck, 10 sts from sleeve and finally 6 sts from right back. 48 sts in total.

Thank you.

Hi Peggycoldfoot,
First you will need to sew one side of the back raglan to one side of one of the sleeve raglans, then sew the other side of the back raglan to the second sleeve raglan. After that you sew the front raglans to each of the sleeve raglans. Please make sure you sew all the pieces with the same side facing, all pieces sewn together with the public sides together, it’s very easy to sew a piece to the wrong side.
After seaming, with the right side or public side facing you and beginning at the left side of the back piece, pick up and knit all the stitches as described above from each section of the dress to knit the collar. You will be using either a circular needle or dpns to make the collar. If you prefer to knit with straights then you can leave one raglan seam open, knit the collar by picking up the sts as described on straights, then after binding off the collar you can seam that open raglan and the collar all in one go. Finally, you will then seam the sides and any sleeve seams and you’ll be done :grinning:
Hope this helps
